Natural Soy Hair Removal

As creatures of vanity, we love to remove body hair! We shave it, tweeze it, wax it, apply depilatory products, laser and use electrolysis. But all of these methods have negative side effects.

Many procedures are used to remove unwanted hair, from simple inexpensive home treatments like shaving, tweezing and waxing, to expensive and potentially time-consuming methods like electrolysis, laser, light therapies and therapeutic antiandrogens. These methods differ not only in the duration of hair removal, their price range and their pain and discomfort levels, but also in their possible undesired effects. Shaving may result in nicks and cuts in the skin surface, may increase the risk of infection, may increase the rate of hair growth, and may also leave undesirable stubble. Tweezing causes pain and discomfort, and often results in poor removal of short hair. While electrolysis may keep an area free of unwanted hair for a prolonged period of time, the process is expensive and painful and may further result in scarring.

Promising clinical results have been obtained with laser treatments, but not without changes in skin texture and pigmentation. Several unwanted side effects, such as liver toxicity or effects on muscularity often accompany the use of antiandrogens. Chemical options are popular but they can be irritating, are not always satisfying, as the emerging portions of the hair shafts are always darker than the already treated parts.

Soy: The Natural Choice

Johnson and Johnson Research Labs conducted discovered during a clinical trial that the application on the skin of natural soy would not only make the hair softer and more manageable, but it would reduce pore size, decrease the size of the hair shaft and slow hair regrowth. They felt that this would not only be perfect as a method for removing unwanted hair, but would also help to make difficult hair more manageable and less coarse.

Using soy is not only antimicrobial, but is wax free, gentle and effective. Soy is botanical and organic and when used, provides no irritation as it doesn't bond to the skin, it bonds to the hair oils and completely removes the entire hair shaft. It never dries, so there is no stretching or tearing of skin that is common with waxing.

Results can be seen immediately. After your first two treatments, regrowth is lighter and softer. With each additional treatment you will experience one third less growth and visits will not be required for six to ten weeks. Eventually you only need to return for treatments once or twice a year. In fact, this method is so gentle, it can remove hair from 98% of the body and you can even apply make-up immediately after your session.
