Reiki Energetic Healing

Reiki at ISISReiki & other hands-on energy healing techniques are based on balancing the body's energy (referred to as "Ki" in Japan, and "Chi" in China) to support the healing process. The words Reiki and T'ai Chi both contain these terms for energy, as these practices are based on the flow of energy within and around the body. All of our body's systems are constantly self-adjusting in an effort to maintain health and balance, or homeostasis. Energy therapies support this process in a gentle, non-invasive way making this therapy perfect for recovery from surgery, during serious illness or to treat any compromised body area.

Reiki is a Japanese word composed of two characters:  Rei (referring to a spiritual or universal source or wisdom) and Ki (energy.) So Reiki means energy that is guided by a universal or spiritual source. From its development in Japan in the early 20th century, Reiki has spread to many countries around the world as an effective and gentle complementary healing modality. It is used in over 100 hospitals in the US and practiced by many massage therapists, nurses, and physicians.

A Reiki or energy healing session is best received while relaxing on a massage table. It may be administered through clothing as an independent treatment, or used in combination with massage therapy or other healing modalities. The therapist's hands are placed gently on or above the client's body during the session allowing the client's body & unconscious mind to use the healing energy in the best possible way.  As the energy self-adjusts to address the needs of the client's system at the time of treatment, no two sessions are alike. This is very different from the allopathic approach which has a specific outcome intended for the treatment making energy therapies difficult to dissect & analyze.  However, many studies (and the fact than many clients have had powerful results) have shown energy therapies to be supportive to the healing process. Results have included:  deep relaxation, emotional release, pain reduction or elimination, reduction of side-effects from other treatments, expanded awareness, feelings of peace, and healing of physical symptoms.

Sessions are in half hour increments.
