"15 out of 21 deaths are related to nutrition" - Dr. Everett Koop, Surgeon General of the U.S.
There are so many things that we cannot control when it comes to our health. Why would we choose to ignore the one thing we can control, the one thing that can make the difference between dying of a debilitating disease and simply dying of old age?
That one thing is the food we eat every day. Even if we eat an incredibly healthy diet avoiding processed foods, high sugars, artificial ingredients or hydrogenated oils, we can still be unhealthy. The reason is the loss of nutrition in our foods. For example, cabbage tested in the 1960’s was a significant source of vitamin C, but today, the vitamin C content of cabbage is barely traceable. The average potato has lost 100% of its vitamin A and 57% of its iron. Modern farming methods, pesticide use and distance transportation have all combined to bring to our table foods empty of nutrients.
We also each have different nutritional needs at different times. The construction worker won't need the same nutritional levels that a secretary will, while a person fighting off a cold won't need the same nutritional levels as a pregnant woman. All of us want to make healthy choices when we eat, but with limitations of time, money, knowledge and just finding something everyone in the family will eat can gradually create nutritional deficiencies in every one of us.
We believe in food as the best medicine, both in your daily diet and in the form of food concentrates. Using your daily food and concentrated food therapy, you can change the health of your entire family. Now is the time to teach your children how to stay healthy for the rest of their lives.
Food For Healing, Food For Life
Healing and health have always been related to eating. Even in ancient cultures, food was the key to longevity and to combat illness. But today, we are overwhelmed with food allergies, militant eating philosophies and so many questions about what is healthy that we often don't make food choices, we simply eat.
At ISIS, we believe in eating as a process through which the body can heal and flourish. This is a program of coaching that will help you identify food sensitivities and find the right food combinations for each stage of your healing process. Then we can help you develop a personalized program of foods, recipes and ideas to maintain health and vitality for every season and every schedule and even a grocery shopping list for your entire family. If you're looking to change your eating habits, overcome cravings for things like sugar and put yourself on the road to losing weight and eating right, then this private coaching is for you!

Whole Food Concentrates as Therapy
The next best thing to eating whole food is to take whole food in a natural, concentrated form. We're not talking about ascorbic acid, beta carotene or alpha tocopherol. We're talking about whole vitamin C complex, whole vitamin A complex and whole vitamin E complex. In foods, vitamins are not individual molecular compounds, they are active biological complexes of hundreds of synergistic elements. The ability of that compound to become active in the human body is dependent on all these elements being present. This is because ascorbic acid cannot be isolated from its vitamin C complex and still perform the specific functions within cells that it is intended to do. If you take beta carotene instead of whole vitamin A as it is found in food, then it will have a drug-like action, not a nutritional action.
Since 1923, the research of one man, Dr. Royal Lee, created an entire therapy of whole foods provided to patients in powdered, dehydrated form. The company he founded, Standard Process has followed the idea that nutrients should not be isolated from their natural environments and should only be taken as they are found in nature and in plants and foods.
Dr. Lee’s philosophy was to find the best food source for each nutrient and concentrate that food into a therapeutic dose. He did this by inventing a way to dry and concentrate these foods into pill form without heating them above body temperature. He knew that for foods to be useful they needed to be alive – with all their enzymes and other heat-sensitive nutrients intact. To this day, the ingredients in every Standard Process product are not heated above body temperature. This means that each product is, in essence, a living food with its vital energy intact.
Standard Process also maintains the same land in the kettle Moraine of Wisconsin that Dr. Lee purchased in the 1920's before pesticides, toxins and environmental run-off could pollute the fields. He chose this land as being the richest and most fertile in the country, rich in trace mineral supply, left over from glacial erosion. The farm uses water from an artesian well that taps pure glacial water 580 feet below the surface. This land has since never been exposed to chemicals or fertilizers, and has been organic for decades. Many organic farms in the U.S. are simply converted conventional farms where chemicals were once sprayed, and mineral supplies have already been depleted. Not so with the food concentrates produced by Standard Process.
Dr. Lee passed away in 1967, but he left in his writings insights into health and illness that are far beyond what is widely known today. He began the concept of synergistic nutrition, which we continue today at ISIS.

The scientist who developed the PSA test never intended for it to be used as a diagnostic tool. In fact, he said he would never advocate the use of the PSA test on healthy men since it was so inaccurate when used in this way.
